About Women's Health

What it is
Supplements marketed for women’s health: menopause and perimenopause blends (sage, clary sage, black cohosh, chasteberry, evening primrose, B6), thyroid support (kelp iodine, selenium, tyrosine blends), iron (often with lactoferrin or vitamin C), folate (Quatrefolic or folic acid), and women’s multis.
Common forms
Capsules, softgels or powder. Forms in our list include Vitex/chasteberry extract, clary sage and sage extracts, black cohosh, evening primrose oil, selenomethionine, kelp iodine, iron bisglycinate or iron with lactoferrin, and Quatrefolic folate.
Typical label doses
Doses vary by product. Iron products in our list declare about 14–20 mg iron a day; folate 400 µg; selenium 100–200 µg; iodine products are compared separately under seaweed where they are plain kelp.
Note
Black cohosh, sage, clary sage, chasteberry, evening primrose, maca, saffron and hops have no authorised EU or UK health claims for menopause or hormones. We only describe ingredients and lab results. Seaweed/kelp in thyroid blends can raise total arsenic; there is no EU arsenic limit for supplements. Selenium intakes from several products can add up; EFSA’s adult tolerable upper intake level is 255 µg/day (2023).

FAQ

Which women’s health product has the cleanest metals?

Among lab-verified products, several Sunday Natural and edubily items have all four metals below the reporting limit, including Sunday Natural Chasteberry, edubily Meno Balance and edubily Iron with Lactoferrin (GBA reports, 2026).

Can you claim these ease menopause symptoms?

No. Black cohosh, sage, clary sage, chasteberry, evening primrose, maca, saffron and hops have no authorised EU or UK health claims. We only describe ingredients and lab results. Authorised nutrient claims (B6, iodine, selenium, iron, folate) apply only when the product has a significant amount of that nutrient.

Why note arsenic on the thyroid blend?

VitaMoment Schilddrüsen-Komplex measured total arsenic 5.2 mg/kg (inorganic 0.27 mg/kg), most likely from kelp. There is no EU arsenic limit for supplements; lead, cadmium and mercury were within EU limits. The figure is higher than most products we list, so we show it plainly.

Why note the selenium dose?

Sunday Natural Selenomethionine’s lab measured about 262 µg selenium per daily dose versus 200 µg on the label, slightly above EFSA’s adult tolerable upper intake level of 255 µg/day. Check total selenium from other supplements or multivitamins.

Can I buy these in the UK?
