Ranked by measured lead (lowest first). Pb = lead, Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, As = total arsenic, in mg/kg, copied from each lab report; “<” = below the lab’s reporting limit (the true value is between zero and that figure). EU 2023/915 limits for food supplements: Pb 3.0, Cd 1.0, Hg 0.10 mg/kg; there is no EU limit for arsenic in supplements. Price per day = pack price ÷ servings at the label dose, seller prices checked 21 Oct 2026; € and £ are never converted or mixed.

About Shilajit
- What it is
- A dark, tar-like resin that seeps from rocks in mountain ranges such as the Himalayas.
- Common forms
- Resin, powder extract in capsules, or drops.
- Typical label doses
- Labels in our directory give 0.2–0.6 g (200–600 mg) of resin a day, most often 250–500 mg.
- Traditional use
- Traditionally used in Ayurveda.
- Research
- Studied for its fulvic acid and mineral content. Study findings are not authorised claims.
- Note
- Raw shilajit can contain heavy metals, which is why lab reports matter.
There are no authorised EU or GB health claims for this ingredient, so we do not describe any benefits.

FAQ
Which shilajit has the lowest heavy metals?
Human Pro Shilajit Resin (EU seller, Netherlands): lead 0.023, cadmium 0.020, mercury below 0.01 and arsenic 0.056 mg/kg (Eurofins India, NABL, lot MSR002, 28 Mar 2026; Eurofins took the sample itself). Close behind: Vifungi (lead 0.06 mg/kg; Eurofins, Mar 2026), Mountaindrop Himalayan (lead 0.10, cadmium 0.0060, mercury <0.0010 mg/kg; J.S. Hamilton Poland, Sep 2026) and Nature Heart (lead 0.11, cadmium and mercury <0.010 mg/kg; GBA Hamburg, Aug 2026). All are far below the EU food-supplement limits (lead 3.0, cadmium 1.0, mercury 0.10 mg/kg).
What are the EU limits for heavy metals in shilajit?
Shilajit sold as a food supplement must stay under the EU 2023/915 maximum levels for supplements: lead 3.0, cadmium 1.0 and mercury 0.10 mg/kg; Great Britain applies the same levels to supplements. There is no EU legal limit for arsenic in food supplements. Every product in our table is within the three limits; the highest lead is Mountaindrop Altai at 0.84 mg/kg.
Why does arsenic matter if there is no legal limit?
Shilajit is a mineral-rich rock exudate, so arsenic is common. Lab reports normally give total arsenic, which mixes the toxic inorganic forms with less harmful organic forms; inorganic arsenic is what matters for safety, and none of these reports measured it separately. Total arsenic in our list ranges from 0.056 mg/kg (Human Pro) to 2.439 mg/kg (Ayor Health). At a 500 mg daily serving, 2.439 mg/kg is about 1.2 µg of total arsenic a day (calculated).
Which lab-tested shilajit can I buy from a UK seller?
Ayor Health (London; Eurofins UK, UKAS, batch B251014, Nov 2025): £69.99 for 50 g, about £0.42–£0.70 a day at 300–500 mg; note its total arsenic of 2.439 mg/kg, the highest in our list. Black Rock (£39.99 for 30 g, about £0.67 a day) has an older Eurofins UK report (Feb 2025) without a batch number. Nature Elixirs (£39.99 for 30 g) has an AGROLAB report with coarse lead and cadmium limits. Prices checked 21 Oct 2026; we never convert £ to €.
Where can I buy lab-tested shilajit in the EU or Spain?
Human Pro (Netherlands) ships to Spain (€9.26 standard delivery per its page): €43.99 for 50 g, about €0.22–€0.44 a day. Mountaindrop (Slovenia): Himalayan €79.95 for 45 g (about €0.36 a day at 0.2 g; 2 × 45 g offer €99.74) and Altai €89.95 for 65 g. Nature Heart (Germany): €29.90 for 30 g, about €0.50 a day. Vifungi (Czech Republic): CZK 1,199 (€49.29 on the shop) for 30 g, about €0.41 a day, but its delivery page lists only the Czech Republic and Slovakia, so delivery to Spain is not confirmed. We did not check Spanish delivery for Mountaindrop or Nature Heart. Prices checked 21 Oct 2026.
Which lab-verified shilajit is cheapest per day?
Calculated at each label’s daily dose, prices checked 21 Oct 2026. EU sellers: Human Pro €0.22–€0.44 (250–500 mg), Mountaindrop Altai €0.28 and Mountaindrop Himalayan €0.36 (0.2 g; up to 0.6 g a day costs three times as much), Vifungi €0.41 (0.25 g) and Nature Heart €0.50 (500 mg). UK sellers: Ayor Health £0.42–£0.70 (300–500 mg), Nature Elixirs about £0.33–£0.67 and Black Rock £0.67 (500 mg). Doses differ, so compare grams per day too. We never convert between € and £.
What are the caveats on these shilajit reports?
Black Rock: the report is about 20 months old (Feb 2025) and shows no batch number. Mountaindrop Altai: lead 0.84 mg/kg, within the EU limit of 3.0 but much higher than the other options (its previous lot measured 1.35). Ayor Health: highest total arsenic (2.439 mg/kg), and the certificate’s use-by field repeats the production date. Nature Elixirs: lead and cadmium only shown as below coarse limits. Human Pro and Vifungi were tested at Eurofins in India, not in the EU. Vifungi: delivery to Spain not confirmed. Fulvic acid is not measured on the Mountaindrop or Nature Heart reports.
Does shilajit have any approved health claims?
No. Shilajit has no authorised health claim in the EU or the UK, so we make none, and seller claims you may see are not authorised. This page only compares independent lab results, prices and sellers. It is not medical advice: if you are pregnant, take medicines or have a health condition, ask a pharmacist or doctor before taking a supplement.
Which shilajit products did we leave out?
Five products with an openable report are on hold until the brands answer our questions: RAW Shilajit (its only report covers a batch whose use-by date has passed), Pure Shilajit UK (inconsistencies on the certificate), Hositic (the lab that ran the test is not named), Vitadote (an exporter’s certificate on bulk material, not an independent report on the jar) and SD Brothers (the report is issued to another company, has no batch and is 20 months old). Products with no usable report are listed as Unverified.
