Lab-tested ashwagandha in the UK and EU (2026)
Ashwagandha is a root, and plants can take up heavy metals such as lead and cadmium from soil. Published independent lab reports let you check a specific batch rather than rely on a "tested" claim. This guide lists the ashwagandha products in our directory with a public third-party report we could open and read. It does not rank products, assess effectiveness, or give health advice.
How we chose these
- The report is public, opens directly, and names ashwagandha and the batch or lot.
- It reports lead (and usually cadmium, mercury, arsenic) from a third-party lab.
- It is dated 2024–2026. Older or expired-batch reports are listed separately as outdated.

Values are copied from the linked reports (mg/kg = parts per million). For context, EU and retained UK law set maximum levels for food supplements of 3.0 mg/kg lead, 1.0 mg/kg cadmium and 0.10 mg/kg mercury (Regulation (EU) 2023/915; GB: retained Regulation 1881/2006). A report applies only to the batch tested; check your pack's lot number.
