About & methodology
CleanAssay is an independent directory of supplements sold by EU and UK sellers. We record what testing a brand has actually published — we never infer, estimate or invent lab results.
Testing rules by category
- Required: herbal and plant extracts (e.g. shilajit, saw palmetto), fibres (psyllium), bee products, protein/amino powders, greens and fish oils must have third-party heavy-metal testing (lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury) from an accredited lab (ideally ISO 17025, e.g. Eurofins, AGROLAB) or programme (e.g. IFOS for omega-3).
- Preferred: simple minerals, vitamins and synthesised single compounds. Third-party testing is preferred; a supplier CoA is noted but marked unverified.
Status labels
- Lab verified — an independent lab report or certification is referenced publicly.
- Unverified (shown for everything below). Brand claim only — the brand claims testing, but numbers, lab or batch match are not confirmed.
- Unverified: no published tests — we checked and found none published.
- Unverified: not yet reviewed — not yet reviewed.

Sponsors pay for visibility only. A sponsor without a report is still shown as lacking one. We compare results with EU (Regulation 2023/915) and UK limits where possible.
