Lab-tested zinc supplements in the UK and EU: heavy-metal lab reports and price per day (2026)

Short answer:
  • Based on independent batch lab reports we opened ourselves, 7 zinc supplements in our directory are Lab verified with measured lead, cadmium, mercury and arsenic, and all 7 have an EU seller.
  • Cleanest result: Sunday Natural Zinc 25 mg + vitamin C (GBA Hamburg, 5 May 2026, batch L02609), with lead <0.020, cadmium <0.010, mercury <0.010 and total arsenic <0.040 mg/kg, all below the lab’s reporting limits.
  • It is also the only Lab verified zinc with a UK website in our data: £9.90 for 120 capsules on sunday-natural.co.uk (about £0.083 a day), and €9.90 on sunday-natural.es (about €0.083 a day), both checked 26 Oct 2026.
  • Two German shops also show £ prices and deliver to the UK from Germany: Vitabay Zink 25 mg (£11.00 for 120 tablets, about £0.092 a day, checked 3 Nov 2026) and MoleQlar Zink (£13.00 for 60 capsules, about £0.22 a day, checked 2 Nov 2026).
  • Other Lab verified options from EU sellers: VitaMoment Zink-Histidin (GBA, 21 Jul 2026; measured 25.6 mg zinc against 25 mg declared; about €0.17 a day), edubily Zink-Komplex 15 mg (GBA, 20 Oct 2026, the newest report; about €0.11 a day), MoleQlar Zink (GBA, 25 Sep 2026; that batch measured 14 mg zinc against 20 mg on the label), Nature Heart Ionic Zink drops (GBA, 6 Mar 2026), GymBeam Zinc Chelate (Labor Dr. Scheller, 2 Jul 2026; arsenic not on the report) and Vitabay Zink 25 mg (Limbach Analytics, 13 Jul 2026; lead 0.59 mg/kg, the highest here).
  • Every measured result is within the EU 2023/915 limits for food supplements (lead 3.0, cadmium 1.0, mercury 0.10 mg/kg).
  • Four more zinc products have only a partial report, and 25 zinc listings have no published lab report we could find.
  • EFSA’s upper level for adults is 25 mg of zinc a day from all sources, so count your other supplements and ask a doctor if unsure.

Safety and what zinc can claim

Safety: EFSA’s tolerable upper intake level for adults is 25 mg of zinc a day from all sources (food plus supplements), and the UK Expert Group on Vitamins and Minerals set 25 mg a day as the safe upper level from supplements. Several products here give 25 mg in one dose, so don’t combine them with a multivitamin or another zinc product. If you are pregnant, take medicines or have a health condition, ask a doctor or pharmacist first. This page is not medical advice.

Claims: under EU and UK law zinc may only carry authorised health claims, for example that zinc contributes to normal immune function, to normal cognitive function, to the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails, and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. These are claims about the nutrient, not about any brand on this page, and no zinc product may claim to treat or prevent a disease.

FAQ

Which zinc supplement has the lowest heavy metals?

In our data, Sunday Natural Zinc 25 mg + vitamin C: lead <0.020, cadmium <0.010, mercury <0.010 and total arsenic <0.040 mg/kg, all below the reporting limits of GBA Hamburg (DAkkS-accredited), report 26020434-006, 5 May 2026, batch L02609. Next by lead: GymBeam Zinc Chelate <0.02 (cadmium <0.01; arsenic not on the report), VitaMoment Zink-Histidin <0.020 (cadmium 0.020, arsenic 0.098), Nature Heart Ionic Zink drops <0.020 (cadmium 0.061), MoleQlar Zink 0.036, edubily Zink-Komplex 0.070 and Vitabay Zink 25 mg 0.59 mg/kg. All are far below the EU limit for lead in supplements (3.0 mg/kg).

Can I buy a lab-tested zinc supplement in the UK?

Yes. The only one with a UK website is Sunday Natural Zinc 25 mg + vitamin C on sunday-natural.co.uk, £9.90 for 120 capsules, about £0.083 a day at 1 capsule (checked 26 Oct 2026). Sunday Natural is a German brand with a UK website, so check delivery time and any import charges. Together Health Zinc (a UK company, £11.49 for 30 capsules, checked 2 Nov 2026) has no published lab report, so it is not Lab verified. Two German brand shops also show £ prices to UK visitors and ship from Germany: Vitabay Zink 25 mg, £11.00 for 120 tablets (about £0.092 a day, checked 3 Nov 2026), and MoleQlar Zink, £13.00 for 60 capsules (about £0.22 a day, checked 2 Nov 2026). For the other Lab verified zincs we have no £ price and have not checked UK delivery.

Where can I buy lab-tested zinc in Spain or the EU?

All seven Lab verified zincs have an EU seller. Price per day at the label dose (prices checked 26 Oct–2 Nov 2026): GymBeam Zinc Chelate about €0.061, Sunday Natural Zinc 25 mg + vitamin C about €0.083 on sunday-natural.es, Vitabay Zink 25 mg about €0.10, edubily Zink-Komplex about €0.11 (400-capsule pack), VitaMoment Zink-Histidin about €0.17 and MoleQlar Zink about €0.25. Nature Heart Ionic Zink drops cost €24.90 per 50 ml, but the shop doesn’t say how many servings a bottle holds. We have not checked delivery to every EU country; use the seller link on each product page.

How much zinc a day is too much?

EFSA’s tolerable upper intake level for adults is 25 mg of zinc a day from all sources, food included, and the UK Expert Group on Vitamins and Minerals set 25 mg a day as the safe upper level from supplements. Sunday Natural, VitaMoment, Vitabay, Brandl and Nature Love give 25 mg per daily dose, so don’t add a multivitamin or another zinc product on top. Lower-dose Lab verified options: edubily Zink-Komplex (15 mg) and Nature Heart Ionic Zink drops (15 mg per 10 drops). If you are pregnant, take medicines or have a health condition, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking zinc. This is not medical advice.

What is zinc allowed to claim in the EU and UK?

Only authorised health claims, for example: zinc contributes to normal immune function, to normal cognitive function, to the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails, and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. A product needs a meaningful amount of zinc to use them, and they describe the nutrient, not a brand. No zinc supplement may claim to prevent or cure a disease, and we don’t rank products by health benefit, only by lab results and price.

Does the zinc in the capsule match the label?

Only some reports measure it. Close to the label: VitaMoment 25.6 mg (25 mg declared), edubily 16.2 mg (15 mg), Nature Heart Ionic Zink drops 15.1 mg per daily dose (15 mg), Nature Heart Zink Pure 11.9 mg (10 mg) and Brandl 26.06 mg (25 mg, earlier formula). Below the label: MoleQlar batch 127740 measured 14 mg against 20 mg declared, which the lab says is outside the EU tolerance; the previous batch measured 19.2 mg. Sunday Natural, Vitabay, GymBeam and Nature Love: zinc content not checked in the published reports.

What does “partial report” mean for these zinc products?

The brand publishes a real lab document, but it is missing something we need for Lab verified. Nature Heart Zink Pure and Brandl Zink Kapseln: zinc content measured, but lead, cadmium, mercury and arsenic not checked (Brandl also told us on 29 Oct 2026 that its published report is for an earlier formula without rice flour). Nature Love Zink Bisglycinat and FormMed Zinkform 15 Kupfer+: the certificate says the metals pass the limits but gives no numbers. We will move a product up when we can open a report with measured values for the current batch.

Why are most zinc products not listed as lab tested?

Of 34 zinc listings in our directory, 25 have no published lab report we could find (including the Bodylab, HSN and Swanson ranges and Together Health). That doesn’t prove they are contaminated, only that you are buying on trust. Inclusion and testing status can’t be bought. If you want one tested or reviewed, use our request-a-test page.
